Why has the website not been updated for six weeks

a merry christmas and a prosperous 2013 to all ex birkdale pupils and staff

Mr Henderson wishes everyone a Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year.
He thanks you all for your good wishes and cards, but due to his situation he is unable to send cards this year.

He is well and happy at Westcliffe Manor where he is looked after very well. Unfortunately his memory is not good.

We just wanted to thank the Committee for their kind invitation to the reunion last Saturday and to say what a wonderful evening we had, chatting with and listening to, so many young people.

We were very proud to be associated with so many former pupils. We hope to attend the 2014 reunion and will contact as many former members of staff as possible and encourage them to attend, nearer the time.

I had a wonderful night at the reunion last night. It was good to see some of my class mates, Tony Hodgson, Celia Hulme, the Pattison twins and Mrs and Mr Wood. I've left a list of names which I would like to see at the next reunion. Hopefully I will be there in 2014.

I have some tickets for the 2012 Reunion priced £15 each. If any are wanted please forward me a cheque for £15 plus a stamped addressed envelope. My final date for posting out tickets is Sunday 7 October.

Hello everyone!

Just been reading about the latest on the School situation. It seems to me that this idea of using the field for sports etc is a much better proposition than just putting houses and buildings on it? At least former pupils could see where we used to play, take part in sports and open days etc. I still believe that the actual building will eventually be pulled down as further decay continues through neglect. RIP Birkdale.

Its also sad to hear about Jack Henderson going into a home through dementia - a horrible thing for anyone. My mother is now suffering from dementia, so I know from personal experience how it effects loved ones.

Looking forward to seeing lots of you in October for the next reunion.
