Births
Mr & Mrs Christopher Ball have a baby boy, Adam John, born on 1 December 1987.
The following couples are expecting babies in the Spring:

Visits to School
During the year the staff were happy to see former pupils in school, especially at Sports Day and Christmas.
Some who visited at other times were Lesley Ellwood (who is writing a book about school), Linda & Cathie Green, Stephanie Rushworth (nee Taylor), Judith Lester, Peter Baker, Graham Yates, Steven Pover and James Sheridan.
Sporting Activities
Darts
Neil Caven, Steven Weymouth, David Varrie and Paul Wilson were runners-up in their section of 1001 in the North West Darts Competition at Manchester. Claire Varrie, Dorothy Caven, Margaret Bushell and Josie Holdsworth-Foster won the 701 section beating Stockport. Both teams play at the Centre for the Deaf in Southport.
Athletics
Peter Baker ran in the Munich Deaf Games and will be going to New Zealand to run if he can get enough sponsors. Susan Champion ran in the Berlin Marathon and completed the 26 miles in 4 hours 55 minutes. Debbie Halliwell is a member of Kendal Amateur Athletics Club.
Badminton
Simon Broadbent plays regularly in league matches for Range, a Formby club. Emma Hough plays for her 6th form college team. Susan Hall plays second team badminton for Woodvale, Southport. Robert Asbridge plays badminton for 'Survivors' and so does Graham Hall.
Other activities
Stepehn Green reached the final selection for 'Operation Raleigh', but just missed the selection. Janet Wardle was selected for 'Operation Raleigh'. Simon Broadbent is waiting to go to London for the presentation of his Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award medal.

Robert Asbridge: works in small engineering firm in Southport; just had a car accident, but fortunately he only suffered a slight injury
Caroline Atkinson: works in Norweb offices in Kendal; just been on holiday to Moscow for 2 weeks
Margaret Balderstone: has been studying Art & Design and now waiting for the result of her Open University course; is a member of Southport Community Church
Simon Broadbent: works at Mentha & Halsall, shopfitters
Sarah Brookes: studying at Art College in London and living in 'digs'
Carol Caine: is a housewife with 2 children; works from home designing clothes; is interested in athletics coaching
Richard Carron: works in the Parks & Gardens Department in Ipswich
Susan Champion: works at Aerospace in Chester
Reggie Cobb: is attending Lancashire Polytechnic in Preston following a course on Architectural Technician Studies; has gained experience with a firm of architects in Southport and the architects department in Ormskirk
Roger Davies: teaching P.E. at a special school in Northampton, 10 minutes off the M1, junction 15
Stella Donald: has a responsible position in Vision Hire Finance Office at Blackpool
Claire Dyson: works as a chef in an Old People's Home in Southport
Geoffrey Evans: drives a mechanical wagon for a waste disposal firm in Warrington; has a 2 year old son, but sadly his baby girl died this year
David Fawcett: he and his wife work at the Cheese Factory at Longridge near Preston
Peter Fisher: was a courier with a French coach firm for a while, now back in England
Lorraine Foster: works at Remploy in Wigan making overalls for the Ministry of Defence
Linda Green: now living in Dover
Cathie Green (Linda's sister): is doing very well at college in Liverpool
Jennifer Green: is very happy on YTS placement helping to make wedding dresses
Stephen Green: has finished apprenticeship with Merseyside Passenger Transport and is driving coaches for holiday coach firms
Karl Greenwood: is painting and decorating in the Southport area
Stephanie Grimshaw: is at a 6th form college; her aim is to become a Teacher of the Deaf; belongs to a choir which travels around giving recitals
Graham Hall: works at Halsalls', the shopfitters, near Southport
Susan Hall: works in the Civil Service in Southport
David Halligan: was recently made redundant, but trying to find employment in London
Debbie Halliwell: did well with her C.S.E. results with several grade 2s and 3s plus an O level in Tech. Drawing; is working in planning department in Kendal
Pauline Hothersall: still on a Catering and Food Studies course; has a responsible catering job in Liverpool
Emma Hough: is attending a 6th form college; still helping out on the farm and has a part-time weekend job
Ian Jones: has left Littlewoods Design Office and moved down south to work with another design firm
Ceri Jones (Ian's sister): still has a good job in Broadbents department store, sometimes in the office and sometimes on the counters
Peter Kenyon: works in a shoe factory; now has his own flat and car
Stephen Leadbetter: is painting and decorating in Blackpool
Janet Lockwood (nee Steele): now lives in Blackpool; her husband has now left the Army; their daughter Dawn has just started in a 4th year Junior class at Birkdale
Lisa Lowe: still works in the Civil Service in Bootle
Michael Lumby: still enjoying working at the mushroom factory in Ormskirk
Mark Nield: is at a 6th form college in south Manchester doing computing and engineering
Julian Nuttall: is following a catering course and has had part-time jobs in the holidays
Angela Parkhurst: now runs her own confectionary firm called 'Plum Crazy'; she is kept busy making wedding cakes and organising buffet suppers
Christian Parkhurst: has a full-time job with a carpentry and joinery firm
Geoffrey Petie: is working in a small woodworking firm near Bristol specialising in antique furniture and restoration work
Craig Proctor: is an assistant site foreman in building projects; has recently bought his own home
Angela Richmond: is at 6th form college in Kirkham; is hoping to go on to Tuson College [later known as Preston College -TW] to do an Art degree
James Sheridan: has a full-time job as a postman; having passed his driving test, he now owns his own car
Roger Sidebotham: has given up a job as a golf professional and now works in a car saleroom; has a baby girl
Ian Smart: is in his second year at Doncaster College learning practical skills in joinery and plumbing
Andrew Stewart: still working for the maintenance unit of Sefton Council mainly doing joinery work
Sharon Staniforth (nee Payne): has a baby girl; is doing a training course so that she can teach Hairdressing and Beauty Care; has been offered a position at her local F.E. College when she finishes
Susan Sullivan (nee Heesom): lives in Leyland and has a responsible job with Fiat in Warrington; is Captain of Warrington Ladies 1st XI hockey team
David Sullivan (Susan's husband): delivers cars for a car saleroom near Leyland
Pamela Taylor (nee Robson): still has her Hairdressing Salon in Penrith
Stephanie Taylor: now Mrs Rushworth as she is married to an American; is expecting her first baby in the Spring and hoping to go to America to live after that
Anne Telford (nee McNeil): enjoys life with her guide dog, Sophie; has skiing lessons in Bebington; is teaching Braille to two pensioners
Neil Tiffin: has an apprenticeship in electrical engineering and electronics
Christine Wells: has returned to England from Australia, but the family might decide to go back soon
Michelle Woods: is happily married, but left her job in the Civil Service to have her baby
